In French, you don’t really say “I miss you.” You say “tu me manques,” which is closer to “you are missing from me.”
I love that. “You are missing from me.” You are a part of me, you are essential to my being. You are like a limb, or an organ, or blood. I cannot function without you.

I am taking my senior capstone in the fall, and unfortunately it conflicts with the only Chinese class I’ve yet to take. Sooooo….. to fill the language void, I’m taking Accelerated First-Year Korean, which is basically one entire academic year of language in one semester.
I was tempted to continue my Japanese studies, but I don’t do well in morning classes (it was a daily 9 am, still too early for me).
The Language Dump can look forward to beginner Korean posts in the fall!

I did end up making my final speech on my life, by the way. It ended up being a great subject because I’m obviously knowledgeable on the subject.. so it was easy to crack jokes and wing it basically.

speech has to be 5 minutes long minimum
i can’t talk about anything in english for five minutes..

你好！我的中文名字是莫小赛。 :) I've only been taking Chinese for about a semester and a half, as a highschool course. (I'm not even completely positive I should've put the "shi" in there, or if I should've just said my chinese name directly after it :o) Oops. Anyways! I think it's so interesting that you have a chinese blog, and I bet that it really helps you out a lot to get to use it more outside of class. I'd been doubting my skill level, but I could read almost everything on your blog so I'm ecstatic! :)

To me, there is nothing cooler than learning languages. I am a university student studying Mandarin and Japanese, and I'd like to take up Korean as well.
